Our story
The idea for Izina Hair was born in 2021 during a trip to Burundi between cousins. It was there that our entrepreneurial dream took shape, inspired by our roots and our desire to reconnect with our heritage.
Izina Hair is fundamentally a family story. We wanted to create a brand that embodies deep values: heritage, authentic beauty, and self-confidence.
In a world where dominant beauty standards do not reflect the full diversity, we felt the urgency to highlight this unique beauty, particularly through locs, a symbol of returning to our African origins.
With Izina Hair, we aim to redefine beauty by celebrating the richness of our cultures and offering products that honor our history. Every loc we create is an invitation to proudly embrace one’s identity and reconnect with one's roots.

Made In Africa
We dream of a world where African communities are recognized for their true value on the international stage. By creating this brand, we have made that dream a reality, as we can proudly say that Izina embodies the essence of "made in Africa." Indeed, we have managed to concentrate our production chain in Africa: the hair is supplied by a Kenyan brand, and Izina's loc extensions are handmade and perfected with a crochet hook by our teams in Burundi. Some parts of the packaging have even been made in Burundi. It was crucial for us to recognize the talent present there and share it with the world. If you’re looking to enhance your look with loc extensions without having to wait for them to form on your natural hair, then Izina is perfect for you. Our locs will instantly provide the natural effect you're looking for, as if they were growing from your own scalp. Even better, Izina gives you the option to commit to wearing our locs for as long as you wish, or to install them for a shorter period if you want to continue enjoying the versatility of your natural hair. Permanent or temporary
We wanted to offer you two options because we know that versatility is an intrinsic trait of the Black Afro community. If you want to wear extensions for a temporary period, we recommend opting for the softlocs method. This is an excellent alternative if you plan to wear the locs for a special event (wedding, birthday, vacation, etc.). On the other hand, if you are more interested in a permanent loc installation, you can choose the crochet method and prepare to receive just as many compliments.
